Sangam Laxmibai Junior College for Girls organized an educational visit for I Year and II Year students to attend the screening of the award-winning documentary NOCTURNES, as part of the Nocturnes Travelling Cinema initiative.

Directed by Anirban Dutta and Anupama Srinivasan, the internationally acclaimed documentary takes viewers into the forests of Arunachal Pradesh, following the scientific study of moths and highlighting the importance of biodiversity, climate awareness, and environmental conservation. The film has received global recognition, including accolades at the Sundance Film Festival and screenings at numerous international film festivals.

The screening offered students a unique learning experience beyond the classroom, fostering scientific curiosity, environmental responsibility, and a deeper appreciation of India’s rich natural heritage. The initiative also encouraged students to explore the connection between science, nature, and sustainable living through the powerful medium of cinema.

The programme was successfully conducted with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, making it a memorable and enriching educational experience.
