Green Day was celebrated on August 9, 2024, to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. As part of the initiative, students planted various species of plants, actively contributing to climate action, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
The celebration helped raise awareness about critical environmental issues and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
🌿 Tree Plantation Drive 🌳
Sangam Laxmibai Junior College for Girls observed Tree Plantation Drive on 11th August 2025 (Monday) with the aim of creating awareness among students about environmental conservation, sustainability, and the importance of protecting nature.
As part of the celebration, students and staff were encouraged to wear green-coloured clothes as a symbolic representation of greenery and environmental protection.

An Inter-Student PowerPoint Presentation Activity was organized for I Year students at G02, Ground Floor. Students presented their ideas on various environmental and sustainability-related topics, including:

The activity provided students with an opportunity to explore environmental issues, develop awareness about sustainable practices, and enhance their presentation and communication skills.
The programme was coordinated by the Science and Arts Coordinators, with the support of the Class In-charges and faculty members.
The celebration encouraged students to understand their responsibility towards the environment and inspired them to adopt eco-friendly and sustainable practices in their daily lives.
